Tippler in the bedroom

Some time ago I was asked by a neighbour if I had flying Tipplers. At my question, how he knew of that, he answered that he had seen a bumper sticker of the DFU on my motorcycle. Then he told me an experience he has had in summer 2000 with a pigeon (Tippler).

One day late in the evening he came into his bedroom and was shocked to see one wall of the room covered in blood stains. He called his wife and a friend that lived on the same floor and the three of them investigated the whole bedroom without finding anything that could have explained the blood stains. So they decided, half-calmed because it wasn«t a crime that had caused the blood stains, to go sleeping. When his wife went into her bed she screamed and in one jump was out of it again. She said to her husband: ÒThere is something in my bed, I felt it with my feet!Ó Her husband then very carefully looked under the sheets and found a dead pigeon there that had a large wound. Now everything was clear: the pigeon had been attacked by a raptor (peregrine falcon) and badly hurt. With it«s last strength it had saved itself through the open bedroom window under the sheets and bled out there. By looking more closely at the pigeon they discovered the wristband it was wearing with the engraving: Deutsche Flugtippler Union. The next day the neighbor then asked the police and the animal welfare about the Deutsche Flugtippler Union, but nobody could give him any more information. That«s why he asked me about the DFU.
